Witness Season February 2026
To witness means to have and share knowledge from personal observation or experience. Every February, First Presbyterian Church participates in “Witness Season”, when we choose a project that we believe reflects the mission and witness of Jesus Christ in the world. These projects are a witness to the faith in action that is happening through one of mission partners. This year, our project will be focused internationally, and we are looking forward to partnering with Haiti Outreach Ministries.
Our congregation has had a long history with this organization, and we have been very saddened by the unrest and turmoil in this country for the past several years. We are grateful that we can support an important project at their Barye Fe Secondary School, which provides education and guidance to children in one of the poorest areas of Port-au-Prince. As the school has grown, so has its needs. They currently do not have any common gathering space. Therefore, HOM has requested funds to construct a large multipurpose building which will serve as a cafeteria, chapel, and meeting space. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to support this project, which they hope to complete in 2026.
We also invite you to join us on Witness Season Sunday (March 1) for a combined Sunday School class at 10:00am in Fogartie Hall as we welcome Bart Edwards, Executive Director of Haiti Outreach Ministries. Come learn more and consider giving to this important ministry!
